Jose Riga will want to quickly put Tuesday’s disappointing result behind him with a win over Bolton at The Valley on Friday.
Belatedly, the Trotters have found some form and are unbeaten in their last six away games. Dougie Freedman’s team are free from relegation worries and will not be involved in the play-offs, so they will be playing without pressure.
The Valley will be turned into a sea of red as part of a club initiative to generate a positive atmosphere to help the team.
Charlton will be without Rhoys Wiggins for the rest of the season following the foot injury the full-back sustained on Tuesday. Morgan Fox may be given the chance to have a run of games in his place.
Ben Hamer has been in indifferent form recently but is likely to retain his place. Warranted he suffered no reaction afterTuesday’s game against Barnsley, Chris Solly will be at right-back.
Michael Morrison will return to the heart of the defence if he is over his illness problem, with Dorian Dervite his likely partner.
Jordan Cousins, Diego Poyet and Johnnie Jackson will probably be the midfield trio again. It is at the front where Riga normally shuffles his pack. Callum Harriott has failed to make any impression on the right and if Solly is fit enough to start, Lawrie Wilson may take Harriott’s place.
Marvin Sordell has been in favour of recent times and may again start. Reza Ghoochannejhad could take Jonathan Obika’s place on the left side of the front three.
Riga may field this team:
Hamer; Solly, Morrison, Dervite, Fox; Cousins, Poyet, Jackson; Wilson, Ghoochannejhad; Sordell.
Subs: Thuram-Ulien, Wood, Lennon, Green, Petrucci, Ajdarevic, Church.
The referee will be Brendan Malone from Wiltshire.
The Addicks have lost their last two games and will be anxious to arrest the recent slide. Easter is always a critical time of the season and Riga will want at least four points from the two holiday fixtures. Heading to Hillsborough with three points already in the bag would be the ideal scenario.
