Charlton Ath v Blackburn R preview

This is a game where the Addicks will have the edge in terms of freshness.

The Valley

Blackburn edged the local derby with Bolton 1-0 at Ewood on Wednesday evening.

Confidence is high at The Valley now and Guy Luzon will be looking for his sixth win in the last seven games.

Early arrivals will be able to visit the Charlton Museum which will be open between 11.00am – 1.00pm. The entrance is at the east end of the North stand and the museum hosts a whole host of memorabilia.

Stephen Henderson faces a late fitness test on the ankle he twisted at Cardiff last week. With a midweek game at Blackpool on Tuesday, Luzon may err on the side of caution with the keeper.

Tal Ben Haim is fit again and may return to partner Roger Johnson at the expense of young Joe Gomez.

Chris Solly and Morgan Fox will fill the full-back berths, Rhoys Wiggins is still unavailable.

The midfield has picked itself of recent times and the incumbent quartet of Johann Gudmundsson, Jordan Cousins, Yoni Buyens and Frederic Bulot are likely to be on duty again.

Igor Vetokele was given a well deserved break at Cardiff but is likely to return to partner Tony Watt.

Charlton could field this team:

Dmitrovic; Solly, Ben Haim, Johnson, Fox; Gudmundsson, Cousins, Buyens, Bulot; Watt, Vetokele.

Subs: Phillips, Gomez, Bikey, Eagles, Wilson, Lepoint, Church.

The referee will be Charles Breakspear from Surrey.

There is a buoyant mood in the dressing room these days and the Addicks will  expect to take something from this game.
