Blackburn still have an outside chance of making the play-offs, so will certainly be focused at The Valley on Saturday.
Blackburn have injury worries but they do have a big enough squad for Gary Bowyer to still be able to field a strong side.
One time Charlton target, Rudy Gestede, and Addicks old boy, Luke Varney, are likely to be involved for Rovers.
A Charlton win, coupled with either Blackpool dropping points at Wigan, Millwall losing at Loftus Road or Doncaster being defeated by Reading at the Keepmoat, would see the Addicks safe.
Charlton play their game in hand against Watford at The Valley on Tuesday, so will have another opportunity to secure their status before the last of the season at Blackpool next Saturday.
Birmingham will also play in midweek and look to be in real trouble. The Blues will be desperate to overcome Leeds at St Andrews on Saturday.
The Addicks’ heroic fight back at Hillsborough on Monday would have boosted confidence and given them momentum at just the right time. The break since Monday is as long a gap as Jose Riga’s side have had between matches of recent times.
Ben Hamer will continue in goal but Riga will have to decide whether to give Chris Solly a second game in five days or bring Lawrie Wilson back.
Another decision the head coach will have to make is whether to bring the greater physicality of Richard Wood back to combat Gestede.
Morgan Fox has grabbed his chance with both hands and is set to continue at left back.
After the success against Wednesday, Riga is unlikely to tamper with his midfield quartet. Hat-trick hero, Marvin Sordell, is sure to start though Reza Ghoochannejhad and Jonathan Obika will be pressing Simon Church for the other striking berth.
Riga may send this side out:
Hamer; Solly, Morrison, Dervite, Fox; Cousins, Poyet, Jackson, Harriott; Obika, Sordell.
Subs: Thuram-Ulien, Wilson, Wood, Petrucci, Ajdarevic, Ghoochannejhad, Church.
The referee will be Michael Naylor from South Yorkshire.
This is a match where any result is possible and the first goal is likely to be crucial. With Watford to come on Tuesday, any sort of a result will please Riga.
A win with Championship status being guaranteed with two games to go, is something that few would have thought possible after last week’s defeat at the hands of Barnsley. However, that is the position the Addicks now find themselves in.
