Crystal Palace’s visit to The Valley has been brought forward from 15 September to Friday 14 September with a 7.45pm kick-off.
Sky will transmit the game live though it is possible the police may have requested a Friday evening kick-off anyway.
Another fixture that has had to be changed is the trip to Ashton Gate. Bristol Rovers are at home to Chesterfield on Saturday 10 November so it does seem strange that the Bristol City v Charlton game was due to go ahead on the same day.
The match will now be played 24 hours later with the kick-off remaining at 3.00pm.
Northampton winger, Michael Jacobs, has signed for Derby in a £450,000 deal and told Sky that he turned down the opportunity to join Charlton. It does confirm that the Addicks have money to spend in the market.
Sky are also reporting that Player Of The Year, Chris Solly, has no intention of leaving The Valley.
