‎Charlton slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Peterborough at The Valley on Saturday afternoon.

Posh were the sharper outfit throughout, except for a few minutes at the start of the second half.

Karl Robinson reverted to nine of the team that drew at Bradford last week – Morgan Fox reurned in place of Adam Chicksen, and Ademola Lookman replaced Lee Novak.

Little was seen of the Addicks as an attacking force in the first period, and it was no surprise when Peterborough took the lead.

‎Paul Taylor’s free-kick from the left was nodded in by Ryan Zafalolli. Charlton’ best efforts in the first period fell to Jordan Botaka and Ademola Lookman.

Charlton were rejuvenated after the break, and for a few minutes, they looked like taking the initiative ‎back from the visitors.

‎First, Josh Magennis hit the post from a tight angle, then Botaka’s deflected effort rattled the crossbar.
‎ Posh rode out the storm, and with Chris Forrester orchestrating things in midfield, the visitors began to control things again.
‎Midway through the half, Gwion Edwards picked the ball up in midfield, broke clear and rifled beyond Dillon Phillips to double Peterborough’s advantage.
Chicksen probably had the best chance for the Addicks, but his volley went high and wide.
Taylor and Fox were involved in a fracas late on, and both players were booked.
The defeat leaves Robinson searching for his first win after four games in charge.
Things do not get any easier for the new boss either. The next three games are all away from The Valley, with Millwall on Wednesday being first up.
