Norwich avenged two league defeats by Middlesbrough with a comfortable win in the Play-Off Final on Monday afternoon.
Alex Neil has been a revelation since taking over from Neil Adams in January. The 33-year-old midfielder guided unfashionable Hamilton Academicals to the top of the Scottish Premier League before taking over at Carrow Road.
A shrewd tactician, Neil opted for a quick start and two early goals put the Canaries in charge.
Cameron Jerome capitalised on an error by Daniel Sanchez Ayala to put Norwich in front, and four minutes later, a blistering strike from Nathan Redmond gave Middlesbrough a mountain to climb. The task was beyond Aitor Karanka’s side.
The Canaries join Bournemouth and Watford in the Premier League, with the trio being replaced in the Championship by Burnley, Hull and Queens Park Rangers.
Preston strolled to an easy 4-0 victory over Swindon in the League One Play-Off Final on Sunday, to be promoted along with Bristol City and Milton Keynes Dons.
Blackpool, Millwall and Wigan were the teams they replaced, so the 2015/16 Championship will look like this:
Birmingham City
Blackburn Rovers
Bolton Wanderers
Brentford
Brighton & Hove Albion
Bristol City
Burnley
Cardiff City
Charlton Athletic
Derby County
Fulham
Huddersfield Town
Hull City
Ipswich Town
Leeds United
Middlesbrough
Milton Keynes Dons
Nottingham Forest
Preston North End
Queens Park Rangers
Reading
Rotherham United
Sheffield Wednesday
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Only Rotherham are rated as more likely to be relegated than Charlton by the bookmakers in their odds for next season. The fixtures for the new campaign will be released in just over three weeks time, at 9.00am on Wednesday 17 June.
