The Invicta Dynamos kept their title dreams alive with a 6-3 victory at the Cardiff NIHL Devils on Saturday night.Marek Nahlik3

Kevin Parrish’s side keep pace with league leaders Chelmsford Chieftians after the morale boosting win down in Wales.

Without the services of first choice netminder Chris Douglas who missed the game with a dislocated shoulder and Peter Beerling, the Dynamos still managed to put in a convincing performance and return to Kent with the two points.

It was the Dynamos that opened the scoring in the seventh minute with import Marek Nahlik firing home after great work by Ryan Giles.

The home side were to be level shortly after, although the Dynamos were to pull back in front in the twelfth minute when Nicky Lewis rounded off a decent move involving Nahlik and Shaun Yardley.

The end to the period saw both sides missing players through penalties as the game was disrupted for all the infringements.

However, it didn’t deter the Dynamos who raced into a 4-1 lead within the opening five minutes of the second period as Nahlik grabbed his second of the night before the returning Callum Fowler got back in the action.

A Cardiff timeout did little to stem the flow as Danny Hammond made it 5-1 in the 28th minute with the period ending much like the first with both sides trading penalties.

The home side were to pull a goal back just 25 seconds into the final period, but it did little to deny the Dynamos as they went 6-2 in front when Juraj Huska poked home, despite the protestations from the home side.

Cardiff were to score the last goal of the game, but it proved to be just a consolation as again the game got scrappy.

In the end, the two points is all that matters for the Dynamos as they keep pace with Chelmsford who won 5-1 away to Solent & Gosport Devils.

The Dynamos are back in action again on Sunday night as they take on Milton Keynes Thunder in the league at the Silver Blades Ice Bowl in Gillingham with face off at 5:15pm.
