Kent Cricket have confirmed the first details of the 173rd Canterbury Cricket Week, the oldest surviving cricket festival in the world and they hope it will be one to remember.
For the first time, a Kent Women match will begin Cricket Week at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, with the Horses’ first ever home Vitality Blast League Two match-up against Gloucestershire taking place on Friday 27 June at the Home of Kent Cricket.
Kent Men’s Rothesay County Championship match with Northamptonshire beginning two days later on Sunday 29 June will be the red-ball leg of Canterbury Cricket Week in 2025, with Kent Cricket Community Team’s ever-popular Schools’ Day Out taking place on Day Two (Monday 30 June), giving over 1,000 local schoolchildren a free taste of County Championship cricket in the height of Summer.
Two days on from the scheduled finish of Kent vs. Northamptonshire, Kent Spitfires’ Vitality Blast showdown with Sussex Sharks, dubbed the ‘War of the Wealds’, will be the exciting finale to this Summer’s Canterbury Cricket Week on Friday 4 July.
All valid 2025 Kent Members will receive two additional complimentary tickets for friends and family to enjoy one day of Kent vs. Northamptonshire in their Membership packs for the 2025 season, which will be posted in the coming weeks.
2025 Kent Cricket Memberships are available to purchase now at a special early bird price until 31 January 2025 and includes entry to ALL scheduled Kent Cricket matches in 2025. Membership is your ‘season ticket’ to watch Kent in Vitality Blast, Metro Bank One Day Cup & Rothesay County Championship action this coming Summer.
Kent Cricket’s CEO, Simon Storey, said: “Canterbury Cricket Week is held in extremely high regard by all associated with Kent Cricket.
“Every year, we look to enhance the role of Canterbury Cricket Week as a celebration of cricket not only in the City of Canterbury but for the whole of the county of Kent, with our Schools’ Day Out, President’s Day and Partners Day all taking place during the festival.
“We are delighted to be able to incorporate our Women’s side into the full programme of Canterbury Cricket Week for the first time, especially with their first home match in the Women’s Vitality Blast.
“We hope that Members and supporters will attend as much of our six scheduled days of cricket as possible, helping us to make the 173rd Canterbury Cricket Week one to remember.”
Match tickets for Kent Men & Kent Women matches will be on sale soon.
