Canterbury Rugby Club start their build up to this year’s Rugby World Cup with a special NatWest Force weekend on June 27th and 28th.
It will be two days of work and pleasure for volunteers to help the club get ready for the big event which starts in September.
Canterbury are planning a series of events before and during the competition and aim to become the focal point for fans to view all the big games.
In return for their skills and their labour the working teams will have breakfast and lunch provided, barbecues, music, a subsidised bar and a social evening for all the family. There will be facilities for families to camp out over the weekend.
Club chairman Jonathan Marsh says this is very much a family event and he is looking for people to assist with painting, decorating and generally tidying up. Additionally, anybody in the building trade is very much sought after as there are specific skilled jobs that need doing.
With backing from NatWest, who are in partnership with England rugby, the weekends are being rolled out at clubs across the country.
Volunteers for the Canterbury weekend can register their interest from the link on the club’s web site home page:www.cantrugby.co.uk
