The Gills have wasted little time in replacing Josh Parker by announcing the arrival of striker Tahvon Campbell on loan from Forest Green Rovers until the end of the season.
Campbell becomes the fourth signing of the January transfer window for boss Steve Lovell as he looks to move the Gills up the league one table.
The 22-year-old will go straight into Lovell’s squad for their League One fixture against Coventry City this weekend. Campbell has scored seven goals for Forest Green Rovers in his 39 appearances, having been on loan at the club he made the move permanent in the summer.
He leaves the side fourth in League two, and joins the club as their third signing on transfer deadline day, the young striker started his career at West Bromwich Albion and has also played for Yeovil Town and Notts County.
Speaking about his arrival Gills manager Steve Lovell said: “Tahvon is an ambitious, talented player who I have kept an eye on for a while. He will offer something different to our forward line and his addition will provide greater competition for starting places.
“I am sure our fans will enjoy watching him play.”
