The World Superbikes are back on the grid this weekend as they head to Aragon in Spain for round two of the 2013 season.Leon Camier 1 (3)

Kent’ Leon Camier will be back on the grid and looking to improve on his results in the opening weekend of the season at Phillips Island in Australia at the end of February.

In race one he finished in ninth place just behind fellow Brit Jonathan Rea, and in race two he finished in ninth place again, once again just behind Rea but ahead this time of another Brit in Leon Haslam.

Going into round two at Aragon Camier has 14 points and is just one behind fellow Brit Haslam, two behind Rea and eight behind Tom Sykes who is the leading Brit currently in fourth position.

However, after a successful testing session at Argon last week both Camier and teammate Jules Cluzel are in confident mood ahead of this weekend’s race.

Speaking ahead of testing which gets underway on Friday Leon said: “I’m really looking forward to getting back to racing – it feels like a long time since we were last competing on-track.

“I think it will be a difficult weekend because everyone will be trying so hard, so we’ll have to see what happens. We made some progress in testing at Aragon last week, not really with lap-times, but with the starting procedure and the electronics on the bike.

“We have some work to do on the chassis settings throughout the weekend, as we have a couple of little ideas that we want to work on that should make things a lot better with the overall package.”

Both Camier and Cluzel will take to the track on Friday in free practice ahead of the first two qualifying sessions on Saturday morning after free practice three. Should they make it through it gives them a chance to challenge for pole. The Superpole qualifying session takes place on Saturday afternoon, with race one getting underway on Sunday morning and race two later in the afternoon.
