The World Superbikes are back this weekend and Ashford’s Leon Camier is heading to the famous Nurburgring for the tenth round of the season.Leon Camier45

The team and indeed Camier are in confident mood as they head into the race after a break following a strong showing at Silverstone last time out.

Camier was on the podium in the second of the English rounds and he is looking to continue building on the result and ensure another good result this weekend.

He knows the track well having secured a podium their last season for FIXI Crescent Suzuki, their first ever podium in fact.

During the summer break the team have been hard at work in the factory, and a number of upgraded will be on the bike for the race in Germany, all of which will improve the engines all round performance.

Giving his thoughts on the weekend’s racing, Camier said: “I’m eager to get back to racing again after a couple of weeks off. We have made some big steps in recent events and I know the guys have been working hard in the break, with the help of Yoshimura, so I’m looking forward to seeing what they have done.

“Silverstone was a big boost for me, it was so deserved for the whole team and great to see Jules up there as well; it shows that all the hard work is starting to pay off. I’m really looking forward to the next couple of races and hope the team can continue to make progress and we can get more results like we had at Silverstone.”

The action gets underway on the track today with testing ahead of the opening round of qualifying this afternoon. Saturday will involve a second qualifying session and then the Superpole session in the afternoon.

Then on Sunday the first race will get underway just before lunchtime and then the second race mid-afternoon, both race distances will be 20 laps in length.
