Burnley have won five of their eight home league matches, but have lost to Brighton, and drawn with Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall at Turf Moor.
The Clarets have plenty of firepower up front with players such as Charlie Austin – who has already netted 20 goals this season – Martin Paterson and Sam Vokes to call on.
The Addicks will be in confident mood following back-to-back wins against Cardiff and Bristol City. Chris Powell’s team are unbeaten in their five matches on the road and the manager will be confident of getting some sort of a result.
The pace of Danny Haynes is a potent threat and also allows Powell to change from 4-4-2 to 4-5-1 seamlessly and without needing to change personnel.
Injuries aside, Powell is likely to field the side that performed so well at Bristol City on Sunday. Ricardo Fuller made a late cameo appearance and will be pushing for a starting berth. Rhoys Wiggins, Yann Kermorgant and Lawrie Wilson are getting close to being back in contention for selection, so Powell will soon have some tough decisions to make.
With Danny Hollands midweek departure to Swindon, Wolves loanee, Eggert Jonsson, is expected to have recovered from a minor knock to take his place on the bench.
Charlton could field this team:
Hamer; Solly, Cort, Morrison, Seaborne; Pritchard, Stephens, Jackson, Kerkar; Hulse, Haynes.
Subs: Button, Taylor, Dervite, Green, Jonsson, Fuller, Wright-Phillips.
The referee will be Bobby Madley of West Yorkshire.
If the Addicks play the game at the higher tempo they have recently, they will have a good chance of coming away with at least a share of the spoils.
