The Kent CTA Fire Kings will be hoping for a bumper bank holiday this weekend with three fixtures on a packed weekend of speedway.
They face Buxton Hitmen away on Sunday before hosting the Mildenhall Fen Tigers on bank holiday Monday at Central Park, before they make the long trip to the Isle of Wight Islanders on Tuesday evening.
New signing Benji Compton will make his debut for the Kings after Monday’s fixture being rained off, and he will be hoping to help his new side to victory.
On Monday afternoon the action gets underway at Central Park at 3:00 pm with the gates opening at 1:30 pm, for the fixture against the side from Suffolk. Mildenall are a strong side and are often challenging at the top end of the Championship.
Tuesday at 7.00pm the inform Isle of Wight Islanders play host to the CTA Fire Kings following a short trip across the seas of the Solent.
As we have already seen in the abandoned meeting two weeks ago the Islanders are tracking a powerful side led by Tom Perry who was signed from Dudley, while Tom Young has started to find some form after a late call up to replace Byron Bekker in the Islanders original line up following an injury reoccurrence which has resulted in Bekker returning to his home in South Africa to face an operation that has put an end to his aspirations of racing this year.
It is also the first opportunity for the new Kings skipper Steve Boxall to lead the side and put behind him the early season bike problems that have dogged the opening races of the season for him.
