Fans of karting will be relieved to have heard that Buckmore Park Kart Circuit have plans to reopen at the end of June after it seemed certain that it would close forever.
The pandemic had forced the owners of the historic karting circuit, where the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button learned their trade, to close with the future then plunged into doubt back in March as it seemed as though the Chatham venue would never reopen.
However, a statement from Buckmore Park has settled nerves and given hope that karts will once again roar around the Kent track.
The statement reads:
“As the clouds slowly clear we are excited to announce that Buckmore Park Kart Circuit will be reopening at the end of next month.”
“Our website and phone lines will be open from the 1st June to take bookings.”
“With the success of the vaccination programme and the government’s timeline to lift restrictions we have the reassurance that we are returning to normal. The pandemic has been tough for all of us but we can very much see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
“We have been working hard behind the scenes. In a week or so we will announce the reopening date and what events we will be offering for exclusive and non-exclusive karting, both adult and junior, and owner driver.”
“We hope the wait will be worth it and we look forward to seeing you on track!”
