The 2015 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship calendar has been released and it has been confirmed that the first and last race weekend of the season will be at Kent’s Brands Hatch.
TOCA, the series organiser has announced an unchanged line up from the 2014 season, this means that the championship will consist of 30 races over 10 weekends of racing with three races occurring on each weekend.
After the huge success of the BTCC’s ‘season launches’ in previous years it has also been confirmed that Donnington Park will host the event which has become a large part of the preparation for the new season, the day will also include the only official pre- season test and will take place on the 24th of March 2015.
After the build-up the racing will begin at Brands Hatch on it’s Indy circuit on the first weekend of April, the Championship will reach it’s conclusion 6 months later as the BTCC returns to the track on the 10th and 11th of October when the teams will be fighting for the final points of the season on the track’s Grand Prix circuit.
As well as this, Oulton Park’s challenging Island circuit will return on the 6th and 7th of June after the track’s International circuit was used for the 2014 season.
The location of the tracks for the 2015 season are vital to the championship, this ensures that hundreds of thousands of fans will be able to witness top quality racing no matter where they live.
The 2013 season saw record crowds go out and support the teams and drivers and the crowds for the ongoing 2014 season are continuing to rise; these large crowds have been helped by the championship’s ticketing scheme, circuits still allow children to enjoy the racing for free meaning that the BTCC is able to appeal to it’s future fans but for those who are unable to make it to a weekend, ITV 4 will continue to show every weekend of racing live.
