The MCE British Superbike Championship for 2015 gets underway this weekend and it is set to be one of the best seasons yet.MCE British Superbikes Official Test Almeria Spain

Kent’s very own ‘Shakey’ Shane Byrne made history in 2014 when he became the first four time BSB Champion, and this season he is going to be targeting title number five but it isn’t going to be easy for him.

He will once again be riding for Paul Bird Motorsport aboard their Kawasaki and targeting another strong start to the season at Donington Park this weekend.

There is another Kent based rider who will have his sights set firmly on more victories after taking his first one last season at his home track of Brands Hatch. Howie Mainwaring from Aylesford will be once again aboard the Quattro Plant Kawasaki and in his second season he will be targeting a top ten finish in the championship, having finished 14th last season.

Another ex BSB Champion returns this season but in an entirely new role as Team manager to BeWiser Kawasaki. Tommy Hill has a blend of young and old racing for him this season with Danny Buchan and Chris Walker.

The support series also have a number of Kent based racers who will be targeting podiums and victories as the season gets underway.

Jake Dixon has made the step-up in the Supersport championship to race for Smiths Racing with expert guidance from Shane Byrne.Shakey testing his 2015 Motorcycle.

Appleyard Macadam have Danny Webb on board their machine for the coming campaign as he returns to the Supersport championship. Also racing in the series will be Ryan Dixon cousin of Jake who will be competing in the Evo class.

The Superstock 600 series has a number of riders taking part from Kent, Chris Threadgill will be aboard the Tsingtao Racing MV Agusta. Tom Ward will be racing on the Go Racing Developments Yamaha with Wayne Ryan returning from the Spanish Moto3 to race on the Moto-breakers Kawasaki. Ross Twyman will be returning and looking to improve on his impressive performances from 2014 as he partners with CF Motorsport once again.

In the Superstock 1000 Alex Olsen from Cooling will be taking to the Moto-breakers Kawasaki to challenge for the title having won the Supersport Evo title last season. Rob McNealy is back and on-board a BMW for another season, as the support series really start to take shape.

Donington Park plays host to the first round of the season in 2015 but the riders and teams will be at Brands Hatch in a few weeks’ time.
