Brown departs from the Dynamos

The Invicta Dynamos have announced that 20 year old forward Robbie Brown has called time on his brief spell with the club.

Brown has requested The Dynamos release him to join the Peterborough Phantoms in the EPL.

Robbie Brown was an early summer signing for the Dynamos having impressed Head Coach Kevin Parrish with his performances for the Wightlink Raiders in 2010/11 and, during his time in Gillingham, iced 13 times, scoring seven goals and claiming ten assists for 17 points.

However, after weeks of speculation, and having previously quashed rumours by confirming his commitment to the cause, the Belfast born forward has finally opted join former teammate Richard Bentham in the league above and will now lace up his skates for the Peterborough Phantoms.

Speaking on this development Head Coach Kevin Parrish revealed he was left frustrated by the decision but backed his side to continue defying the odds in upcoming games.

Parrish said, “Obviously I’m very disappointed to lose Robbie and it’s not just the decision to move elsewhere but the timing of the switch. After a few good weeks at the club the news that we are losing a top Brit forward is a dent to good feeling around the team and, given that the weekend sees us face Romford, it’s not an ideal moment to be losing key players.

“However, the lads have really rallied around in recent weeks and we will all be singing from the same hymn sheet again come Sunday as we hope to make our mark against the Raiders”.

Parrish then suggested that he would be looking at potential replacements when he added, “Just as we did with Richard Bentham, all we can do is wave Robbie goodbye and wish him the best whilst we then go about finding a suitable replacement. It’s a tough time to be looking for additions at the moment but, when we find the right player, hopefully we will be able to bolster the ranks once again”.
