Today we introduce you to a local team that isn’t racing this season as they are embarking on a new project to hopefully launch later in 2013.
That team is Brooker Racing, a family run team from Kent consisting of Scott and Nicholas Brooker, Scott is the racing driver and Nicholas is the chief racing mechanic who come from Sittingbourne.
They race as part of the Cannon Motor Spares Tin Top Challenge and finished runners-up in the T2 class in 2011 and the duo couldn’t wait to get started in 2012.
It turns out they were right to be optimistic as they secured a number of class wins throughout the season, and secured the T2 award at the end of the season, after making some power improvements to the car during the closed season.
In November the Brooker Racing team embarked on their toughest challenge yet as they ran a special charity fundraising endurance race to raise support for the Genestein medical trials for terminally ill children. They did this with the support of the British Automobile Racing Club: South East.
It was a very well attended and supported event and the duo were overwhelmed with the competitors and club support to raise funds for this cause that means so much to them.
Since then the car that Scott raced in 2012, the BMW Mini Cooper S JCW has been sold by the team as they fund a new project with the aim of returning and competing for overall honours in the championship.
They are aiming to be running the car later on in the year, and are looking for people who are interested in supporting the team and advertising and sponsoring the car.
Kent Sports News will be monitoring the team’s progress and covering their progress as the new project heads towards its debut on the track.
