Bromley begin their 2023/24 FA Cup campaign with a fourth qualifying round tie at home to fellow National League side Wealdstone on Saturday afternoon.
The Ravens go into the game having drawn 2-2 away at York City last weekend, with equalising goals from Michael Cheek and Josh Passley, who scored in the fourth minute of injury time. The draw kept Bromley in fifth place with 26 points from 15 games, having lost only once in their last twelve matches.
The Stones lost 1-0 away at Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday and have 16 points from their 15 league matches, sitting in fifteenth place. Stuart Maynard’s side have struggled for any consistency so far this campaign winning four, drawing four and losing seven of their league games so far.
Andy Woodman added striker Olufela Olomola to the squad last week, signed from Wealdstone coincidentally and the forward may well line up against his former team mates on Saturday, having made his debut for Bromley away at York City last weekend.
The Ravens have already played The Stones at Hayes Lane in the league this season, battling out a 1-1 draw back in August. Wealdstone taking the lead through Tahvon Campbell before Soul Kader equalised in the second half for Bromley and this game looks set to be equally as tight.
Since that game Kader has been ruled out for the season with injury, Louis Dennis has also been out for a spell along with Adam Marriott, Mitchell Bergkamp and Besart Topalloj who has had to sit out the last two games with the concussion protocols.
With a place in the First Round on offer and the potential to play one of the big League One sides in the next round, both sides will be looking to progress and add an extra bit of interest to their seasons as well as boost their finances.
