After two weeks away from League Two action Bromley return to the fray with a home game against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday afternoon at Hayes Lane with both sides needing a win to put some space between themselves and the bottom two places.
The Ravens entertained Dartford at home in the Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday night, a very yung side winning 3-1 to progress through to the secodn round.
In their last league outing Andy Woodman’s team drew 0-0 at Fleetwood Town their third consecutive draw, but it also saw a much improved performance and importantly a clean sheet. Results elsewhere have seen Bromley slip to twentieth in the table with 10 points from 10 games and with Accrington Stanley & Morecombe both winning the need for three points has become even more pressing.
Deji Elerewe, Josh Passley & Myles Weston are all long term injury ansentees, but Bromley still have a large squad to choose from, Woodman opting to play two strikers in recent games with Olufela Olomola partnering Michael Cheek who has already netted six times this campiagn.
Tranmere make the journey down from The Wirral sitting one place above Bromley with 11 points from 10 games, last Saturday Rovers lost 2-0 at home to Bradford City. Like Bromley, Nigel Adkins’ side’s last league win came back in August. They have drawn five of their league games so far and lost three. Omari Patrick is currently Rovers top scorer with three.
The last time the two sides met at Hayes Lane was in September 2017, during Tranmere’s three season stint in the National League, Rovers running out 1-0 winners with an injury time goal from James Norwood on their way to promotion via the play offs the following May.
Tickets are still available from the official Bromley website, £20 for adults, £15 for concessions, £7 for Under 18s & £5 for Under 12s, with prices going up by £4 at midnight on Friday. Kick off is at 3pm.
