Having reached the magic points total of 51 last Saturday Bromley travel up to promotion chasing Salford City relaxed in the knowledge that The Ravens will be playing National League football for the fifth consecutive season.
Neil Smith’s side won 4-2 at Braintree Town, playing some very attractive attacking football and scoring some quality goals. They are still missing the injured Marc-Anthony Okoye along with long term casualties Jake Goodman & Adam Mekki, but the young Charlton loan duo of Reeco Fairchild-Hackett and Brendan Sarpong-Wiradu have settled in well to life in on league footballs’ top flight.
Salford are in their first season at this level following promotion, but with the backing of the Class of ’92 and under manager Graham Alexander they were looking to challenge for promotion immediately and have been up near the top of the table all campaign.
On Wednesday night The Ammies travelled to Harrogate Town and won 1-0 to keep them in touch with leaders Leyton Orient, sitting in third with 73 points from 40 matches played. When the sides met at Hayes Lane in September, Salford won 2-0 in a very tight, hard fought game, Rory Gaffney & Tom Walker scoring the goals.
Bromley are comfortably fourteenth in the table and have also reached the Kent Senior Cup Final, with seven league games left in the campaign. Smith will be looking at his squad with one eye on next season and who will be retained.
Admission Prices for this game have been reduced to £10 and £5 to encourage attendance as the home side look to keep in the promotion hunt and Bromley look to finish as high up the league as possible.
