After breaking their league duck on Tuesday night with a 2-2 draw against Aldershot, Bromley now look to build on their first point of the season when they host Gateshead in The National League at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon.
The Heed travel down from Tyneside in great form sitting second place with nine points from four games and having beaten York City 7-1 at home on Tuesday night, striker Ryan Bowman netting a hatrick.
Neil Smith added Millwall forward Alfie Pavey to his squad ahead of Tuesday on a three month loan deal and the youngster played the whole ninety minutes up front in a very attacking line up. The Ravens were further boosted by the return of Louis Dennis from long term injury who scored the equaliser within minutes of coming on as sub, increasing Smith’s attacking options.
The issue to address now for The Ravens ahead of Saturday will be avoiding conceding early goals which they have done in every game so far this season all from crosses into the box. If Smith and his team can rectify this then there were plenty of positives to build on from the Aldershot draw, hopefully with the backing of the supporters after a disappointing crowd of 906 on Tuesday night, which included an impressive 300 from the visitors.
A few more performances like Tuesday night should bring the numbers right back up to over last season’s 1,000+ average.
