After last week’s exit from the FA Trophy, Bromley are back in National League action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Eastleigh at Hayes Lane.
Manager Neil Smith called last weekend’s performance against Dorking Wanderers unacceptable and apologised to the fans who travelled over to Surrey for the match, captain Jack Holland also made a point of speaking to the supporters after the game to say much the same after the 3-0 defeat and they will be looking for a positive response.
The Ravens sit third in the table with 44 points from 25 games, three points behind leaders Barrow and six clear of the eighth place team.
Bromley have won twice in their last ten matches and drawn four as they have struggled with injuries and suspensions, Smith was missing six first team players for the Dorking match, but hopes to have a couple back for Saturday.
He also hinted he may bring in some new signings to strengthen his squad.
Last weekend Eastleigh beat Yate Town 6-1 in the FA Trophy and Ben Strevens men sit 13th in the league with 33 points from 24 matches played. The Spitfires are unbeaten in five league games and also took League 2 Crewe Alexandra to a replay in the FA Cup, before losing 3-1 at Gresty Road.
The Ravens & The Spitfires are well known to each other having played in Conference South regularly since 2007, before Eastleigh were promoted in 2014 & The Ravens in 2015.
When the sides met at The Silverlake Stadium in September the game ended 1-1 with Cavanagh Miley equalising late on after Luke Coulson had put Bromley in front and this promises to be another close fought encounter between two strong teams.
