Bromley finally get their National League campaign under way on tonight when they take on Dover Athletic in a Kent derby at Hayes Lane.
The game is behind closed doors as per government guidelines on elite sport, but Bromley are live streaming the game via their website at the cost of £9.99 to supporters of either club or interested neutrals.
The Ravens scheduled game at Macclesfield Town was cancelled on Saturday after the Cheshire club sadly folded, but Neil Smith’s side did overcome a Brentford B side 4-1 in a friendly at Hayes Lane.
Bromley’s scorers were the ever prolific Michael Cheek, Kory Roberts, Ben Williamson and James Alabi. Although manager Neil Smith was left with one or two injury worries ahead of the league kick off.
Dover got their National League campaign off to a perfect start with a 1-0 home win over Notts County at The Crabble, thanks to a goal from Millwall loanee Harry Ransom.
Among manager Andy Hessenthaler’s new signings this summer for The Whites was popular ex-Bromley left back Sam Wood, who will be keen to make a good showing on his return to Hayes Lane.
Last season when the sides met at Hayes Lane Bromley won 3-0 on New Years Day with goals from Raymond, Rees & Cheek, while Dover won by the same score line five days earlier on Boxing Day.
When the season came to a premature halt in March the PPG final league table saw The Ravens finish thirteenth with 52 points from 38 games, while Dover finished two places higher on 54 points from the same number of matches.
This promises to be a tight hard fought encounter between Kent’s two National League teams keen to get the new season off to a good start.
