Bromley vs Carlisle United – Preview

Bromley return to League Two action at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon for their only home game of the month, when they entertain Carlisle United.

The Ravens go into the match sitting in nineteenth with 15 points from 14 league games, having drawn 1-1 away at Cheltenham Town with ten men last weekend, Omar Sowunmi with the equaliser late on after Carl Jenkinson had been sent off in the first half. On Tuesday night Bromley lost 1-0 away at Charlton Athletic in the EFL Trophy, Andy Woodman choosing to field a much changed side from the Cheltenham match, giving a number of youngsters the opportunity to get game time.

Jenkinson will be suspended for the game, but Danny Imray should be set for a return. Myles Weston has gone out to Hornchurch on loan until January and Taylor Foran to Kidderminster, while long term injury absentee Deji Elerewe managed half an hour in a B team game against Norwich City last Friday.

Carlisle Utd make the long trip down from Cumbria on the back on a fine 1-0 win away at Salford City last Saturday, courtesy of a late Ben Barclay goal. The win saw United stay twenty third, but move on to 11 points from 15 league games, closing the gap on the teams above them. On Tuesday night Carlisle beat Morecombe 2-1 away in the EFL Trophy, Freddie O’Donoghue and Ben Williams with second half goals to give Mike Williamson’s side the victory, although it wasn’t enough to take them through.

Mike Williamson took on the Head Coach role at Brunton Park at the end of September, having previously manged at MK Dons and Gateshead, where he encountered Bromley most recently in September last season, which ended in a 3-1 win for the Ravens.

The sides have never met before, but both teams will be looking to pick up three vital points in their quest to maintain League Two status for next season.

Tickets for the game are completely sold out

Kick off is at 3pm.
