Bromley are back in National League action at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Barnet.
The Ravens are looking to bounce back from two away defeats to fellow promotion rivals.
Neil Smith’s side go into the game sitting fourth in the table with 50 points from 31 games, having lost 2-0 at Barrow last weekend and 2-1 at Notts County in their previous league match, which came either side of a 2-0 Kent Senior Cup exit at home to Gillingham.
Now in their second season since relegation from the Football League, Darren Currie’s Barnet make the trip across London sitting fourteenth with 40 points from 28 league matches played, six points off the play off zone and seven from the bottom four. The Bees are unbeaten in eight, but had drawn their last four prior to Tuesday nights postponed FA Trophy replay with Farsley Celtic due to a frozen pitch.
Having already had their league match against Dagenham & Redbridge at The Hive rained off last weekend, The Bees won’t have played for 14 days prior to this Saturday and will probably be relieved that it’s a 3G surface at Hayes Lane.
When the teams met at The Hive in October, Bromley won 2-1 with goals from Joe Kizzi & Chris Bush after Josh Walker had put Barnet in front. The game at Hayes Lane last season saw The Bees come out on top winning 1-0 with a first half goal from Dan Sweeney, although both squads have changed significantly since then.
Smith has brought in several new faces to his squad recently with defender Michael Chambers & winger Corey Whitely making their debuts at Holker Street last Saturday in a new 5-3-1-1 formation.
This encounter looks set to be equally as close and feels like a crucial game for The Ravens as they look to stay in touch with the top three and consolidate one of the play off places.
