Bromley vs AFC Wimbledon – Preview
Bromley vs AFC Wimbledon – Preview

Having been knocked out of the Football League Cup by AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night, Bromley meet the same opposition again on Saturday lunchtime, when they entertain The Dons in the home side’s first ever League Two match at Hayes Lane.

Andy Woodman’s much changed side lost 2-1 to Wimbledon in midweek, having taken the lead through Levi Amantchi in the first half, before Johnnie Jackson’s team, also fielding six changes from the opening league game, came back to win through.

Both teams are expected to be significantly different for this Saturday’s game, Grant Smith, Corey Whitely, Michael Cheek & Byron Webster are all likely to return to the Bromley team that won 2-0 away at Harrogate Town last weekend.

Seventeen year old Academy player Nathan Paul-Lavally made his Bromley debut on Tuesday at wing back and received praise from his manager for his display as he quickly found his feet in senior football.

But for a superb late save from a Kamarl Grant header by Owen Goodman in The Dons goal, the game could have gone to penalties, but these are the fine margins that will count even more in the Football League.

Wimbledon started their league campaign with a 4-2 home win over Colchester Utd last Saturday and both sides will be looking to keep their positive start to their League Two campaign going in what should be another close, entertaining game.

Tickets for the game have completely sold out, kick off is at 12.30pm and also live on Sky TV.
