Bromley take on another ex-Football League side in the National League on Saturday afternoon when they entertain York City at Hayes Lane.
The Ravens are on an unbeaten run of five games going into the match, which as seen then rise up to fourteenth in the table, nine points off the bottom four, having drawn two tough away games in the last week 1-1 at Chester City and 2-2 at Braintree on Tuesday night.
The Minstermen travel down from Yorkshire looking to turn round what has been a difficult first few months in non-league football after being relegated from the Football League last season. Manager Gary Mills has recently taken over the side for his second spell in charge and has inherited another relegation battle with City in twenty second place having picked up 16points from 21 games. On Tuesday night York lost 4-1 at home to Lincoln City and haven’t won a league game since 3rd September when the beat Solihull Moors.
Neil Smith added former Liverpool & Kilmarnock striker Michael Ngoo to the squad for the Chester game, although he didn’t feature on Tuesday and also signed young right back Jordan Wynter following the departures of Jamie Philpott and Joe Howe.
With Ben May, Alex Wall and Louis Dennis seemingly no nearer a return from long term injuries the rookie manager has done well to put out a side that can compete at this level on limited resources.
The form of young forwards Blair Turgott and Tobi Sho-Silva notching ten and five goals respectively so far this term has been a massive contributor to The Ravens revival of fortunes.
The odds look to be in Bromley’s favour going into this match as they look to extend their fine run, but York will be desperate to turn their fortunes round, which should make for another entertaining game at The Lane.
Venue: Hayes Lane, BR2. Kick Off 3pm. Admission £15 adults, £10 concessions, £5 under 16s.
