Bromley v Wrexham preview

Bromley return to National League action at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Wrexham in what looks a game they need take points from for The Ravens if they are to keep in touch with the play off places going into the final quarter of the season.

The Ravens suffered a 1-0 loss at Halifax Town on Tuesday night, which continued a difficult run in the league dating back to the end of January.

Despite two FA Trophy wins Andy Woodman’s team have not won in the National League since their 1-0 win over Notts County on 29th January, which has seen then drop to tenth in the table with 52 points from 30 matches played, although they do have games in hand on the teams above them.

Bromley did secure a place in the FA Trophy semi final last weekend with an impressive 3-1 victory over Solihull Moors courtesy of two goals from Michael Cheek and one from James Alabi.

Woodman has continued to add players to his squad using the loan market, with striker Ali Al Hamadi from Wycombe Wanderers and midfielder James Vennings from Charlton Athletic joining this week.

Luke Dreyer, Harry Forster, Mason Bloomfield & Omar Sowunmi were all out injured for the loss at Halifax and the manager, who has been in the hot seat for just under a year now, bemoaned his team’s luck after the loss, saying it just didn’t fall for us.

Wrexham make the journey over from North Wales on a run of seven consecutive victories in all competitions. Last Friday Phil Parkinson’s side beat Notts County 2-1 in the FA Trophy quarter final and they currently sit fourth in the National League with 61 points from 32 games played.

When the teams met at The Racecourse Ground in November Wrexham won 2-0 with goals in either half from Reece Hall-Johnson & Paul Mullin, after Liam Trotter had been sent off for Bromley in the eighth minute.

This looks set to be a hard fought entertaining match between two of this season’s FA Trophy semi finalists, looking to push for the promotion play offs.

Entrance for the match is £20 for adults, £12 for OAPs, registered disabled & Students, £7 for 16 to 18 year olds and Under 16s go free. Plus a printed programme for £2.50.
