Following on from their momentous 2-1 win over Notts County on Saturday table topping Bromley continue their National League campaign with a home game against third place Woking on Tuesday night at Hayes Lane.
The Ravens have completed a quarter of their league season unbeaten, taking 26 points from their opening 12 games, one point ahead of their opponents from Surrey.
Cardinals manager Alan Dowson will be hoping to see his side extend their unbeaten run of ten matches, on Saturday Woking drew 1-1 at Chorley with Dave Tarpey finding the net for The Cards who were promoted from National League South via the play offs last season. This was Woking’s fourth consecutive drawn match, having won seven and lost only once in total.
Neil Smith, although delighted with the win over Notts County, highlighted the numerous missed chances in the first half of the match which could have cost them as the visitors got stronger in the second period and is looking for his side to be more ruthless in front of goal.
Both goals for The Ravens came from loan signings at the weekend with Charlton’s Alfie Doughty opening the scoring on two minutes and Forest Green’s Shawn McCoulsky volleying home the second with just over fifteen minutes left.
Smith’s excellent use of the loan market rescued Bromley’s season last year and has proven to be a vital resource again this term.
When the sides last met in 2017/18 season, Bromley won both games 2-0.
Over 3,100 fans packed into the ground on Saturday and although Tuesday night games at Hayes Lane are traditionally less well attended, there should be another healthy crowd for this one as two early season pace setters look to gain an advantage over potential promotion rivals.
