Bromley v Woking preview

Bromley are back in National League action on Saturday as they face Woking at Hayes Lane desperately looking to turn around a poor run that has seen them slip down the table towards the dreaded relegation zone.

Bromley v Cambridge United Pre-season Friendly 25/07/2015.

Without a win in 2016 and only having won once in the league since October, The Ravens need to arrest a poor run which saw manager Mark Goldberg sacked two weeks ago.

Neil Smith will be in charge for his third game as interim manager having lost the previous two 2-1 to Grimsby and 2-0 to Wrexham, he has brought in two wingers on loan in Reise Allassani from Crystal Palace and Rhodell Gordon from Stevenage who both featured in the loss at Wrexham, to try and add some attacking threat from out wide which the team has lacked since Anthony Cook’s departure back to Ebbsfleet and Louis Dennis’ & Pierre Joseph-Dubois’ injuries.

With Ben Chorley and Max Porter also out it’s been a tough time for The Ravens with injuries.

Saturday’s loss saw the first mutterings of discontent from the loyal travelling fans towards the players for a perceived lack of effort and a decent performance against Woking will be vital to win the support back on side.

Woking travel over from Surrey on a relatively poor run also having picked up one point from the last three matches, The Cards are tenth with 49 points from 33 games and having lost to 1-0 at home Guiseley last weekend manager Gary Hill will be demanding more from a side fancied to be challenging for the play offs.

With both sides looking to get back to winning ways it should be a keenly contested encounter although a draw wouldn’t be a disaster for Bromley.
