Bromley v Wealdstone preview
Bromley v Wealdstone preview

After the tragic events of last weekend Bromley return to National League action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Wealdstone at Hayes Lane.

The Ravens match with Yeovil Town lasted only eleven minutes before events were halted that would sadly end with Bromley fan Keith Hore losing his life, despite the heroic efforts of medical teams from both clubs and the emergency services.

With the deepest sympathies from everyone connected with Bromley FC going out to Keith’s family & friends, there will be a minute of silence prior to kick off on Saturday to remember Keith and both sides will wear black arm bands for the match.

The Ravens went into the Yeovil game having ended a run of eight games without a win by beating Dorking Wanderers 3-2 away in their previous outing. Michael Cheek, Omar Sowunmi and Harry Forster with the goals for Andy Woodman’s team who played over half the game with ten men when Corey Whitely received a second yellow card, which will see him miss this weekend’s match.

After last Saturday’s results Bromley sit in ninth place with 29 points from 20 National League games, just four points off the play off places.

Louis Dennis made a rare start against Yeovil and his brief showing looked very lively, hitting the bar with one effort.

The Stones make the short trip over from Middlesex sitting in eleventh with 29 points from 21 league matches.

Last weekend Wealdstone lost 2-0 away at Barnet in a local derby a defeat that ended a run of four league games unbeaten for Stuart Maynard’s team.

When the teams met at Hayes Lane last December Bromley won 3-2 with a last minute winner from Byron Webster, but the opening game of this campaign saw The Stones win 3-2 at Grosvenor Vale, Olomola, Browne & Cook on target for the home side with Cheek & Sowunmi scoring for Andy Woodman’s side.

If the two previous meetings are anything to go by we could be expecting a high scoring, close match between two sides looking to keep in touch with the play off places as we head towards the busy festive period.

Match Tickets are available from the official club website in advance at £20 for adults, £15 for concessions and £7 for Under 16s, Under 11s free with a paying adult.

Prices increase by £2 on the match day and home fans can now pay on the gate. There is also a printed programme available at the match for £3.00.  Kick off is at 3pm.
