After reaching the final in May, Bromley begin their FA Trophy campaign for this season on Saturday when they entertain rivals Sutton United in the first round At Hayes Lane.
The Ravens go in to the game on a difficult run of form that has seen them slip to just three points off the bottom four in the National League.
Without a win in five games Neil Smith’s side have 24 points from 23 games.
Last Saturday The Ravens lost 2-0 at Gateshead with three new signings making their debut in Zavon Hines, Luke Coulson and JJ Hooper. Smith was disappointed in the performance, especially at conceding two goals from set pieces.
Sutton sit just below the play off spots in the National League with 37 points from 23 games. Last weekend they drew 2-2 at home to Solihull Moors, manager Paul Doswell side’s third two all score line in a row and seventh draw in ten matches.
When the sides last met Bromley won 3-1 at Gander Green Lane On Easter Monday, but it’s a very different Ravens team this season.
This is the first of three games between these old rivals in less than a a month, with potentially a fourth of the cup tie ends in another draw.
A win would give Bromley a vital lift ahead of the busy holiday period of fixtures.
