The final day of the National League season sees Bromley go into their home game with Notts County needing to win and hope results go their way for Andy Woodman’s team to make the promotion play offs.
The Ravens go into the game in ninth place with 66 points from 41 league games played, last weekend they kept in the play off picture with a dramatic 3-2 win at Aldershot Town thanks to an injury time goal from Joe Kizzi, taking the lead three times in the match through Michael Cheek and then James Alabi before conceding twice. Cheek has now scored twenty three this campaign.
Notts County travel down in fifth place with 70 points from 41 games, they have already secured a play off spot, but need a win to be sure of home advantage in the first knock out game.
They defeated Weymouth 3-0 on Saturday at Meadow Lane thanks to goals from Ruben Rodrigues, Kyle Wootton and Enzo Boldewijn.
When the sides met in the reverse fixture two weeks ago it ended 2-2, Bromley taking the lead through an own goal before County went in from via their top scorers Wootton & Rodrigues only for Tate Campbell to equalise for The Ravens and secure a vital point for Andy Woodman’s team.
Ian Burchnall’s Magpies are on a good run of form, unbeaten in six, including four wins. While Bromley under Andy Woodman have seven wins, four draws and one defeat since he took over at the end of March.
Bromley are still without the injured Byron Webster, Taylor Maloney & Courtney Duffus, but Woodman has been pleased with the impact of Harry Forster since he came back and James Alabi who has scored seven this season on limited game time.
Home supporters are able to attend the match by purchasing tickets in advance, while the action is also being live streamed for £9.99 for those unable to attend. These can both be bought from the official Bromley FC website.
A good turn out is expected for what could be an historic day in Bromley’s history and also still has a huge influence on Notts County’s final position in the play offs. With both sides so evenly matched it’s set to be a tight game with all to play for.
Whatever happens, for Bromley to be going into the final game of the National League campaign still in with a chance of the play offs and promotion is a phenomenal achievement.
