Bromley v Havant & Waterlooville – Preview

After Saturday’s impressive 2-2 draw at Wrexham, Bromley return to Hayes Lane on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon where they entertain Havant & Waterlooville in the National League.

The Ravens came back from 2-0 down in North Wales to earn a vital point thanks to second half goals from Frankie Sutherland and a late own goal.

Sam Wood making his debut after returning to the club last week. Manager Neil Smith was full of praise for his side showing great character and also appreciation for the supporters who made the journey up in very difficult circumstances.

Havant also drew on Saturday holding big spending Salford City to 1-1, with Alfie Pavey scoring the goal for The Hawks. Pavey had a brief spell with Bromley two years ago before having a great season at Dartford last term and then signing for Lee Bradbury’s side this summer.

This is the Hawks first season up in The National League after they won promotion from National South in April.

Both sides have picked up six points from their first half a dozen games and sit next to each other in the table in sixteenth and seventeenth. They met regularly in their Conference South days with the home side usually coming out on top.

With the teams both only two points from the bottom four they will be keen to build on their weekend draws and move further up the table.
