On Wednesday evening Bromley host Gillingham at Hayes Lane in a Sky Bet League Two match.
For supporters of both sides, it will be an interesting evening. Some of the Bromley long standing supporters will recall their Isthmian League days and may still be pinching themselves that they are watching their team play in the Football League.
Meanwhile, many travelling Gillingham supporters will have the shortest journey that they have ever experienced for a league match.
At the start of the week, Bromley were in twentieth place in their debut EFL season. On Sunday, they were in F.A. Cup action at National League Solihull Moors.
Although going behind in just the twelfth minute, they responded three minutes later with an equaliser by Omar Sowunmi. Just after the hour mark, Daniel Imray sneaked in between a Moors defender and goalkeeper before clipping home what turned out to be the winner.
They have only lost once in their last eleven league and F.A. Cup matches and manager Andy Woodman knows that they just need to start converting draws into wins, to start climbing the league table.
Meanwhile, Gillingham were eleventh in the league, just three points outside the play-offs. However, they went out of the F.A. Cup at home to Blackpool in the first round and haven’t played for over a week when they lost at home to Harrogate.
They took the lead in the sixth minute of the second half through Timothee Dieng but the visitors equalised eight minutes later and went on to win two-one.
Mark Bonner’s Gills’ form has dropped since winning three in a row in September. They then went on a five game losing run before arresting it with a draw and a win before their defeat at the hands of Harrogate.
Away from home they have won two, drawn two and lost three. The Ravens at home have won just the once.
Although they have met in a couple of pre-season friendlies, there has not been a competitive game between the two teams since November 2006 when they were drawn against each other in the FA Cup at Priestfield.
Mark Bentley’s brace put the Gills in control until Nic McDonnell pulled one back with twenty minutes still to play. Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu came on as a Gillingham substitute and scored twice in the last six minutes to send the hosts through.
