Bromley play their final home game of the National League season on Saturday lunchtime when they entertain Ebbsfleet Utd in a Kent Derby at Hayes Lane.
Ebbsfleet go into the game having lost 1-0 at home to Dover Athletic on Easter Monday, a result that just saw them just miss out on a chance of the promotion play offs. Since Manager Gary Hill took over the reins at Stonebridge Road six months ago The Fleet have been on a good run for form which saw them go from eighteenth to eighth in the table. They have now picked up 67 points from 45 games played, while The Ravens have 57 from the same number of league matches and sit in thirteenth.
When the sides met in the reverse fixture back in late September Bromley ran out 2-1 winners thanks to first half goals from Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe and Frankie Sutherland, Ebbsfleet’s late goal coming from Jack Powell. This game saw Richard Brindley make his debut for Bromley and sparked marked up turn in form for the Hayes Lane side.
Neil Smith’s Ravens drew 1-1 at Barnet on Monday and the manager praised his side’s efforts, saying they probably deserved to win the game given the chances they created. Jordan Higgs capped a man of the match display with a goal from midfield, the Academy graduate finally getting a run in the team after a long spell out with injury. Smith has targeted a top half finish for his team, which a win over their local rivals would achieve.
This should be a closely fought derby match between two familiar foes looking to end their campaigns on a high.
The game kicks off at 12.30pm and after the match Bromley will be holding their end of season presentations on the pitch and there will be speeches from the manager and co-owner.
