Two of Kent’s National League sides meet at Hayes Lane on Saturday as Bromley take on Dover Athletic with the home side looking to pick up much needed points following what has been a tough introduction to life at this level.
Dover set the example last season of how to make the grade following promotion from Conference South with a creditable first season up and they have begun the new campaign with a solid return, sitting tenth in the table with two wins and two draws from six games.
As for The Ravens after winning their opening fixture they suffered three defeats in a row before picking up a point at Halifax last weekend, although it will have felt more like a defeat as they led 2-0 on 90 minutes.
On the injury front things seem to be improving captain Rob Swaine is hoped to be available after missing all but one of the games so far, which will give Mark Goldberg some selection headaches after signing former Gillingham defender Ben Chorley last week and bringing in Callum Davies on loan from Justin Edinburgh’s side.
With former Dover player Moses (Ademola) Emmanuel in goal scoring form it will be interesting to see who gets the nod to start up front with Brad Goldberg, Alex Wall and another ex-Crabble man Ben May also in contention.
With summer signings Lee Minshull & Max Porter now fit & available the management team also have some difficult choices for the midfield positions too, with Pierre Joseph-Dubois, Anthony Cook and Louis Dennis all looking to get a start on the wings.
Dover have an impressive record at Hayes Lane having won comfortably on their last two visits and this will be another stern examination of The Ravens National League credentials in front of what is expected to be a good crowd for this intriguing match.
