Bromley v Dorking Wanderers preview

Fresh from their 2-1 win at Altrincham on Tuesday night, Bromley are back into National League action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Dorking Wanderers at Hayes Lane.

The Ravens picked up a vital three points to keep in the play off picture with their midweek away win at Altrincham, Michael Cheek & Byron Webster soring first half goals, which proved to be enough for Andy Woodman’s side to secure the victory and extend their unbeaten run to six games.

Bromley are now eighth in the table with 44 points from 30 games played, just outside of the top seven on goal difference.

In his post match comments Woodman commended the spirit of his squad dealing with the injury problems, which saw Billy Binham pull pout just before kick off and Byron Webster limp off in the second half.

Another player was also taken ill after the game, but thankfully was able to travel home with the team that night. The manager also gave credit to the travelling fans who made the long journey to support their club.

With the squad looking a little light, midfielder Ryan Stirk joined on loan from Birmingham City for the rest of the season on Thursday afternoon.

Dorking Wanderers make the trip over from Surrey sitting in twentieth place with 30 points from 29 league matches, just one point above the relegation zone.

Marc White’s side were promoted from the National League South last season thanks to a dramatic play off win over Ebbsfleet Utd and are one of only a handful of semi professional sides left in the top flight of Non League football.

The Chicks last two games were against Aldershot Town losing 1-0 in the FA Trophy and 2-0 in the league and they are without a league win since mid-December.

When the teams met at Meadowbank in November, Bromley won a dramatic match 3-2 with goals from Michael Cheek, Omar Sowunmi & Harry Forster, despite having had Corey Whitely sent off in the first half.

Harry Ottaway & Ryan Seager were on target for The Wanderers that afternoon, but despite a second half onslaught on the Bromley goal, they couldn’t find an equaliser.

This game looks set to be equally as close with Bromley looking to maintain their play off challenge and Dorking desperate to move away from the drop zone.

Match Tickets are available from the official club website in advance at £20 for adults, £15 for concessions and £7 for Under 16s, Under 11s free with a paying adult. Prices increase by £2 on the match day and home fans can now pay on the gate.

There is also a printed programme available at the match for £3.00. Kick off is at 3pm.
