Bromley are back in pre-season action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain a Crystal Palace XI in a game that sees the official opening of the new Glyn Beverley Stand at Hayes Lane.
With work completed on the 1,200 seater stand behind the goal at the old benches end, the ground how has the required seating capacity for The National League, with income generating business facilities built behind it.
On Tuesday night The Ravens drew 1-1 away at Dulwich Hamlet in the annual Glyn Beverley memorial cup match, before winning on penalties. Luke Coulson scored in the first minute of the game with Jack Holland netting the decisive spot kick. Along with this pre-season match former Bromley Chairman and President Beverley, who died last year, now has a stand named after him at the club he was linked with for so much of his life.
Manager Neil Smith has overseen a positive build up so far, winning two and drawing two matches and as the squad takes shape the number of trialists has also reduced as The Ravens prepare for the league campaign which starts on 3rd August away at Chorley.
With Palace’s first team squad away in Switzerland preparing for their Premier League season, The Eagles are expected to field a young side who will test the home side for passing, pace and fitness.
A good crowd is expected for the match on a historic occasion for Bromley Football Club as the new stand opens for business ahead of their fifth consecutive National League season.
Kick off is at 3pm and entrance for the match is £10 for adults with £5 for concessions.
