After last week’s FA Cup excitement Bromley are now focused back on their debut League Two campaign as they prepare for the visit of Colchester United to Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon.

The Ravens lost 3-1 away at Premier League high flyers Newcastle United last Sunday in the FA Cup third round, Cameron Congreve putting Bromley in front before The Magpies eventually made their class tell in the second half.
Their last league outing saw a disappointing 4-1 loss at Crewe Alexandra, which ended an unbeaten run going back to October for Andy Woodman’s team.
The Ravens now sit in twelfth place with 34 points from 24 league matches, which is a more than creditable start to their life as an EFL club.
Colchester United make the journey down from Essex sitting in seventeenth with 27 points from 24 games. In their last League Two match Danny Cowley’s side lost 2-0 at home to Accrington Stanley before they travelled to Cheltenham Town in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night losing 2-1, conceding the second in injury time.
Cowley took over the managerial reins at The Jobserve Community Stadium in January last year leading the team away from the threat of relegation to safety, but form has been up and down so far this campaign.
Andy Woodman has used some of the funds generated by the FA Cup run to bring in midfielder Ben Thompson on a permanent deal after starting the season at Bromley on loan from Stevenage, impressing the management with his performances.
Woodman has also signed striker Nicke Kabamba from National League title challengers Barnet to boost his options up front and share the goal scoring burden with Michael Cheek who has 13 so far this campaign and also added young wing back Brooklyn Ilunga from MK Dons.
Versatile defender Kamarl Grant’s loan from Millwall has also been extended to May, having had a great first half of the season at Hayes Lane.
When the sides met in the reverse fixture back in September the game ended 1-1, Michael Cheek on target from the penalty spot for The Ravens early on before Owura Edwards levelled up for Colchester on the hour.
This game looks set to be equally as close with both teams looking to kick start the second half of the season.
At the time of writing there are a few tickets available for the game from the Bromley website, this is the penultimate game before the East Terrace is closed ay Hayes Lane when general sale tickets will become even more limited and season ticket holders will be required to confirm attendance in advance.
