Bromley v Cheltenham Town preview

Bromley finish their impressive debut League Two campaign with a home game against Cheltenham Town at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon.

The Ravens go into the game having drawn 3-3 away at Barrow last weekend, coming back from conceding three times to secure a point at Holker Street, with goals from Michael Cheek, Nicke Kabamba & Omar Sowunmi. The draw left Andy Woodman’s side in eleventh place with 63 points from 45 league games, unbeaten in three.

Woodman was pleased for Kabamba who scored his first goal for the club since joining from Barnet in January and also by the performances of youngsters Nathan Paul Lavally and Marcus Ifill coming off the bench. He also highlighted the character of the side and the commitment showed in every game by the whole squad.

Cheek has now scored 24 goals so far this season, picking up the League Two player of the season award last Sunday.

Cheltenham Town make the journey across from Gloucestershire sitting in fifteenth with 60 points from 45 games, unbeaten in four matches. Last weekend Michael Flynn’s side beat Carlisle Utd 3-2 at home, with Jordan Thomas, Ashley Hay and George Miller finding the net for The Robins, winning the game in injury time.

When the sides met in the reverse fixture at Whaddon Road in November the game ended 1-1, Ethon Archer putting Cheltenham in front, before Bromley levelled up late on through Omar Sowunmi and this game looks set to be equally as close as both sides look to end their campaigns on a positive note.

With the East side of the ground closed for construction work, tickets for the game have sold out.

Kick off is at 3pm.
