After the euphoria of the opening day win over Wrexham, Bromley have been dealt a harsh lesson in what is required at this level of football with defeats at Woking and Grimsby.
They now face Braintree Town at home on Tuesday night in need of points that will steady their start to the National League season.
Things haven’t been helped by injuries to key players Rob Swaine and Lee Minshull, plus Reece Prestedge limped out of Saturdays game at Grimsby.
Mark Goldberg brought in Callum Davies on loan from Gillingham to bolster the squad and he capped his debut with a goal at Blundell Park.
The Ravens boss is expected to shuffle the pack for Tuesday’s team selection with a lack of goals from up front a major concern.
Braintree arrive at Hayes Lane on the back of a creditable 0-0 at home to Tranmere Rovers after losing their first two league games under new manager Danny Cowley.
Tuesday should be an interesting match between two sides in need of a win to settle in to the new season and keep away from the bottom four.
