Bromley v Boreham Wood preview

Bromley return to National League action when they entertain Boreham Wood at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon, looking to continue their recent fine run of form.

The Ravens go into the game on the back of two wins and one draw that has solidified their mid-table position and given them an outside shot of making the top seven, sitting on 47 points from 34 games.

Last  weekend they won 2-1 away at Hartlepool Utd thanks to two superb goals from Marc-Anthony Okoye and Luke Coulson, a performance that manager Neil Smith was very happy with, complimenting the character of his squad.

The Ravens will go into the game without influential Frankie Sutherland who is suspended after reaching ten yellow cards and they are also still missing the injured Adam Mekki and Jack Holland.

Boreham Wood make the journey down from Hertfordshire without a league win in 2019, a run that has seen them slip into a relegation battle, just 4 points from the bottom four, with 39 points from 34 matches. Wood made the promotion play off final last season, before losing to Tranmere Rovers in the Wembley final, but Luke Garrard’s side have found things much tougher going this term.

When the two sides met at Meadow Park in October, Boreham Wood won 2-1 with goals from Justin Shaibu and Gozie Ugwu, while The Ravens goal came from Omar Bugeil.

Bromley & Boreham Wood were promoted to the National League together back in 2015, having competed against each other in the National League South and Ryman League for many years.

Just under 2,000 Bromley fans came to see the last home game against Maidstone, who brought 600 of their own, the club will be hoping for a similar number tomorrow to get behind Smith resurgent side.
