Bromley v Altrincham preview

Having reached the half way stage of the campaign Bromley are back in National League action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Altrincham at Hayes Lane.

The Ravens drew 1-1 at Boreham Wood on Tuesday night thanks to a second half equalising goal from Courtney Duffus, the point moved Neil Smith’s side up to twelfth in the table with 31 points from 22 league games played, just five points off the top seven play off places.

Smith bemoaned his side’s bad luck after the game, saying he thought their second half efforts deserved all three points. The Ravens having only won one of their last five games, drawing the last two.

Having been promoted back to this level at the end of last season, Altrincham are on currently a run of four consecutive defeats, which has seen them slip down to tenth place with 33 points from 25 games.

On Tuesday night Alty lost 1-0 at Chesterfield, Manager Phil Parkinson’s team only having won once this month.

When the teams met at Moss Lane in November Bromley came away with a 1-0 win thanks to an early goal from James Alabi, with a player sent off on either side.

This game looks set to be equally as close fought, with Bromley keen to turn their draws into wins and Altrincham looking to regain their early season form to maintain a challenge for the play offs.

The Ravens were without the injured Byron Webster and Harry Forster for the match in midweek, with Jack Bridge also having to limp off just before half time, but the return of Luke Coulson has been a massive plus for Smith’s attacking options and his creative play set up the goal for Duffus to notch his third goal since joining in January.

The game will be played behind closed doors, but supporters can watch the excellent live stream coverage of the match for £9.99, details on how to purchase this are on the Bromley FC official website.
