Bromley make their live television debut on Saturday lunchtime as they entertain Altrincham at Hayes Lane in The National League in front of the BT Sports cameras.
Unfortunately for The Ravens their first exposure on national television coincides with a severe injury crisis with ten first team players missing out on Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Boreham Wood and manager Mark Goldberg only hoping that some may return in time for the weekend.
The Ravens named three Academy players on the bench on Tuesday and a half fit Louis Dennis after losing Bradley Goldberg in the warm up and having to reshuffle the formation only minutes before kick off.
With other players clearly picking up knocks during the match and playing through the pain, it was a testament to the spirit in the squad that they came so close to picking up a points after going 2-0 down in the first ten minutes.
Altrincham travel down from Greater Manchester for the early kick off having lost to 3-0 at Macclesfield in midweek and the famous old Non-League club currently sit nineteenth in the table with twenty points from twenty games, but they did rekindle their FA Cup giant killing tradition last weekend beating Football League One Barnsley 1-0.
Lee Sinnott’s side will be looking to cash in on an understrength vulnerable Bromley and pick up vital league points, while the Bromley management team will be hoping that they can field eleven fit players and give a good account of themselves on TV.
With an International break meaning no Premier League or Championship football, a good crowd is expected at Hayes Lane for this historic occasion.
