After playing in two games that had an influence at the top of the table Bromley now go into a match on Saturday with huge significance at the bottom, when The Ravens entertain Aldershot Town at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon. The Shots make the trip up from Hampshire mired in the relegation zone, Gary Waddock’s side sitting in 22nd place having picked up 36 pts from 41 games played, eleven points behind Dover Athletic who are fifth from bottom one place above the drop zone.
In the reverse fixture back in September Aldershot won 3-2, with Bromley conceding a late goals again. The Shots have only won two league games in 2019, but they did hold AFC Fylde to a 0-0 draw last time out and they have a good record against Bromley, having never lost to The Ravens in fifteen meetings since Aldershot reformed.
Bromley go into the match on a high though, running Salford close last weekend, before beating Leyton Orient 2-1 in front of a sell out crowd at Hayes Lane on Tuesday night, Charlton Athletic loanee Reeco Fairchild-Hackett scoring the winner after Frankie Sutherland had levelled up from the spot. Sutherland’s goal was the Irishman’s ninth successful penalty of the season.
Neil Smith will still be without long term injuries Jake Goodman & Adam Mekki, but otherwise should have a full squad to choose from going into this one. With Bromley safely in mid-table, Aldershot will be hoping for an after The Lord Mayor’s Show performance from The Ravens in order to help their survival chances.
