Bromley make the short trip to Chislehurst tonight to face Glebe in their latest pre-season match as Neil Smith’s side build up to the start of their second campaign in the National League on 6th August.
Glebe are preparing for life in the newly formed South Eastern Counties League Division One after a successful season in it’s previous guise of the Kent Invicta League, finishing fourth and winning two cups.
The side will be under new management for the new term and looking to go for promotion with everything in place off the field as the ground has been transformed over the last year from an open pitch to an enclosed ground with floodlights, stand and hard standing along with an excellent clubhouse.
Last night Bromley ran out 2-1 winners at Sevenoaks Town thanks to goals from Tom O’Connor and a last minute Adam Cunnington penalty and Smith is expected to name an entirely different starting eleven for this evenings game as he runs the rule over squad players and trialists to assess what additions can be made to the squad within budget.
With contracted players Lee Minshull, Louis Dennis, Ben May and Alex Wall all injured and yet to kick a ball during the friendlies it’s a difficult balance for the manager to find.
