Bromley continued their pre-season preparations with a comfortable win over Watford U23s.
First half goals from Michael Cheek and Corey Whiteley were added to by three further goals in the second half to complete a fine night’s work for Andy Woodman’s side.
Bromley had started the game much the stronger with the left wing back Whiteley at the heart of most of Bromley’s attacking play. Twice in the opening 15 minutes he fizzed efforts over the crossbar before Jude Athurs did much the same when well set in the penalty area.
Whiteley was then denied by Jonathan Macaulay in the Watford goal but he could do nothing about Bromley’s opener. Cheek finishing off a fine move after a quick counter attack.
Bromley were to make it two in two minutes when Whiteley got the goal his play deserved, collecting a cross-field ball from Luke Coulson the wideman cut in before shooting into the far corner.
Whiteley could have had a second but he poked Coulson’s cross just over with MaCauley beaten.
The second half witnessed the usual multiple changes associated with pre-season but not before substitute and academy product Marcus Sablier had volleyed in from Coulson’s cross for the third.
Two of the trialist substitutes added gloss to the scoreline later in the half to seal the victory for the ravens and complete a very satisfactory nights work.
